USA J 1 Hospitality Intern/trainee Program

Overview

Incremental Education connects students and young professionals with 12-month paid hospitality internships in the United States through the J‑1 Visa Program. Interns receive hands-on practical experience; rotational training in culinary, food & beverage, and front office departments at leading 4- and 5-star hotels and resorts across the U.S. 

Program Highlights

  • Culinary/F&B/Front Desk/Rotational Placements: 12-month full-time internships (32+ hours/week) offering well-rounded exposure across key hospitality departments.
  • Competitive Stipends: Earn between $10–$20/hour, with potential for tips in service
  • Housing: Provided by the host company in a hotel, dormitory, or apartment.
  • All-Inclusive Support: Includes emergency medical insurance, 24/7 support, assistance with housing, budgeting guidance, and U.S. cultural adaptation.

Eligbility

Eligibility:

  • Current full-time students or recent graduates (within 12 months) in hospitality, tourism, or culinary arts
  • OR professionals with 5+ years of hospitality experience
  • Additionally : Ages 18–30+, fluent in English, financially prepared, and committed to the 12-month placement

Fees and Costs

 Program fee of R34 295

This fee covers the following:

  • Guaranteed placement with top-tier hotels and resorts across the United States
  • Medical insurance for the duration of your stay
  • Visa sponsorship documents (DS-2019)
  • ⁠SEVIS fee and U.S. visa application fee
  • ⁠Pre-departure orientation
  • ⁠24/7 support throughout your program in the U.S.

 

Important: Participants are also responsible for booking and covering their own round-trip airfare to and from the United States.
